Fire and Rain

Walking the ridge, late tonight

Weaving through rain covered chaparral

My light seeking the trail...

Rain after fire, the world filled with distant ash

I feel the presence of the phoenix

My light sees the universe in the drop on the branch

The bead hovers from the stem over the land

The center radiant like the pupil of an eye

It is all there, the end, the beginning, the future

Deeply inside the whole world….

My dog scents the fox within the rain

Feeling more passionate than ever

He is gone and I travel with him

Knowing he feels the true life of the earth.
